Our client is a well-established aerospace business providing a range of aero structures, machined components and processing solutions for defence and civil aircraft projects.

Operating from their excellent facility in East Lancashire they are looking to strengthen their Engineering/Leadership function by recruiting a Machine Shop Leader.

You will be the expert and go-to person within the Machine Shop working closely with the CNC programmer, leading a team of CNC and Manual Machinists.

You will Lead, mentor and coach the manual/ CNC machinists and work alongside Section/ Production Leaders to ensure consistence across communication, processes and procedures. Providing technical support and methods to the team is key to the role as well as ensuing CNC machines are fully utilised.

Working at a senior level, you will solve manufacturing & quality issues utilising root cause and analysis tools, implement and communicate KPIs within the department.

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate skills in the following areas:

  • Strong leadership skills
  • Knowledge and experience of operating and programming CNC Machines (Mazak/ DMG)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Strong planning & organisational skills
  • Implementing business improvement initiatives & liaising with all levels within an organisation
